1. Valletta
Malta’s capital city covers less than one square kilometre. However, it’s a cultural melting pot, full of quaint shops, charming spots, enchanting gardens, traditional wooden balconies, majestic palaces and forts, and what-not. No wonder a lot of couples choose Valletta for their wedding photos! There are myriads of picture-perfect spots to choose from – so you can rest assured that your photos will be truly unique.
2. Riviera Bay
This sandy bay is one of the most stunning beaches on the islands. Its characteristic flight of stairs is Instagram-worthy, and the golden sands were made for wedding photos. What’s more – the hillside behind the beach is a natural park, so if you’re an adventurous couple, you can go that extra mile by hiking your way up the hills and taking a couple of truly breath-taking shots.
3. Buskett Gardens
Buskett is a semi-natural forest that’s just a stone’s throw from Dingli Cliffs and Siggiewi Centre.
The small forest is home to citrus and olive grows, vineyards, wildflowers, natural springs and migratory birds. All in all, Buskett is the perfect location for those couples who want to live out their Disney dreams in Malta.
4. Mdina
Mdina, a.k.a the Silent City, is an ancient walled city that houses a tonne of winding streets, museums, colourful doors and architectural splendours. You can discover some stunning locations within seconds of arriving in Mdina. Brimming with art, culture, secrets and romance, Mdina is perfect for proposals, engagements and weddings.
5. Gozo
Malta’s sister island – Gozo – distinguishes itself by being the more traditional and tranquil one of the “sisters”. It’s known for its pristine coastline, clear seas, unspoiled countryside and picturesque villages. We highly recommend Villa Rundle, Ramla Bay, the Citadel, Victoria, Xlendi and its countless charming villages squares as wedding photo locations.
6. Popeye Village
Originally built as a movie set in the ’80s, Popeye Village is now a popular tourist location. The quirky houses – which double as attractions – make for a whimsical photo backdrop that will, undoubtedly, add a touch of uniqueness to your wedding photos. This seaside tourist village occupies the steep slopes of Anchor Bay – a scenic inlet that’s perfect for thalassophiles.
